ReadSmart technology is based on the science of how the brain most efficiently

PhD and many other researchers have demonstrated over decades of scientific
research that phrase-based formatting improves reading comprehension, speed,
and enjoyment. This research has shown that text is consistently read faster
with better comprehension and retention when manually formatted to emphasize
phrases. LTI has spent significant resources creating ReadSmart 1, which automates
and applies this science through software algorithms. ReadSmart 1 automatically
formats text, emphasizing the phrases (chunks) of meaning, preempting the
work that the brain does and optimizing the efficiency of reading. This technology
gives readers documented benefits while maintaining typographic standards for
aesthetically pleasing and highly readable text. ReadSmart 2 works on different
scientific principles to emphasize the characters, including letters, in text that are
